Lemmy is a federated link-aggregation and discussion platform where independent servers interoperate, so a person on one server can subscribe to communities, vote, and comment across any other. It works like a self-governed Reddit: communities host link and text posts with nested comments, votes surface widely endorsed items, and moderators set local rules with site-wide admin controls behind them.
